The Humorous Side Of My Very Serious And Continuing Endeavor Into Internet Marketing
The Saga Begins - Chapter 1 - Article 1 There is very long list of people who want to earn an additional income. The list gets smaller when it comes to actually doing the research necessary to begin. The list dwindles further to a handful that are committed to earning more money. There could be millions of people reading this paragraph right now. All that will be left, at the end of the day, are the few, the proud, the Marketers who are serious enough to grab the baton and run with it. The normal working person will cringe at the mere mention of words like "Internet Marketing" and "Affiliates Programs". If people know that I am a Internet Marketer they cross the street to avoid me. It's out of absolute terror, of yet another, of my dreaded sales pitches or another friendly exchange of my colorful shining new business card. The fear runs deep as many have tried their hand at this lofty business called Internet Marketing. Yet, there are many thousands of people around the world making money from the Internet. Internet Marketing has got a bad reputation because of all the "scams" out there. I've been taken many times myself, but I persevere because I want to be one of the thousands of success stories. I know that Internet Marketing is my chance to obtain my goals of financial freedom and independence. This is why I sit here putting pen to paper (Well, it sounds better than typing). It's said that if you put something in writing it becomes more important to one's self and adds to it an urgency to follow through. I will be successful, though I've failed before, because I'm learning more each day. At one time I was blindly and wildly driving down the Internet Marketing highway to success. Just wishing I could see the road sign that promised that I was nearing the learning curve. After navigating through the treacherous learning curve I would soon be able to accelerate past the eight ball of life that has blocked my path, to success. Now, I am finally emerging at a point that I'm beginning to grasp and understand some of the techniques and strategies I've been studying for so long. I think? Then, up ahead, another road sign signaling more bends in the road, Oh no! I've just learned about bummarketing, blogs, clickbank and the value of AdSense. I finally found an affiliate website that allows me to choose what I want to promote. I've also found that if I look hard enough I can do a lot of this for free (and free is very good). Just don't tell it to the guy that wants my $149 $95 $49. I'm sure that someone, somewhere during my 10 year journey through Internet Marketing probably told me these things. However, I was hell bent on finding something better (that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow). That being the reason I never stuck to anything. I would see something new and drop everything I was currently working with or not working with. Now this new something needed other things (lets call them attachments) to gain all the momentum possible and have it running like a well oiled machine. Oh my yes, spitting out dollars faster than I could get them into my bank. If they said I needed it I bought it, I downloaded it, I read it, I studied it, I did not sleep and I did not eat. My posterior spent (more than, equal to, but not less than) the hours I put in at my 9-5 job. My computer chair and monitor became my second job. And then it happened. The next new something catches my attention. Once again I jumped in with both feet, made sure I had all the right attachments and I was in the runners' stance waiting for the pop of the pistol. It never came or I missed it because I was floundering in a sea of non action and totally overwhelmed. I had all the right tools, all the bells, all the whistles and there I sat... ...To be continued, maybe

What is the Top Online Home Base Business Opportunity?
By Jason Paul
Let's face it. Today, there is no shortage of business opportunities available if working from home is your thing, but what do the top online home base business opportunities have in common? As someone who has successfully earned 6 figures working from home for the past 5 years, I know the common factors that the top Internet home businesses share. In this brief article, I'm going to give you an overview of some things that I consider to be extremely important when evaluating Internet business opportunities. Hopefully but the time you've finished reading this, you'll have a better idea of what to look for as you prepare to embark on your work from home adventure. The first thing that is important in an Internet business is a business model or blueprint that has been proven to be successful. Diving into a new business with no game plan in place is a very bad idea and a mistake that many work at home newcomers make. Finding an online home business with a system already in place that you can tap into will save you a lot of time and money and greatly improve your chances for becoming successful. Another important thing that the top online home based businesses share is the element of automation. With all of the powerful technology that we have available today, it has become possible to automate much of the day to day work that needs to be done such as qualifying leads, following up, etc. Automating your business will not only give you more free time, it will also allow you to grow your business at a much faster rate. Hopefully this short article has given you a good overview of the things that I consider to be important when trying to find the top online home base business opportunity. Remember, choosing the right business from the start will allow you to replace your 9 to 5 income much quicker than if you start a business that doesn't share these important traits.

3 Barriers To Success With Google Adwords
Google Adwords is a very important part of your advertising plan. The main reason for this is that since Google is the largest search engine on the planet it is really easy to get traffic very fast using it. However, there are unique challenges and in this article I would like to go through those barriers that might prevent you from achieving success with this method. 1) Create separate advertising campaigns One of the biggest problems that you will experience with your advertising campaigns is that if you do not create multiple campaigns grouping certain types of adverts together you will find that you have too many general adverts grouped together. Your low performing adverts will negatively impact your other campaigns and increase your cost per click. So it becomes very important to group a few related adverts together when testing to see which adverts work. 2) Not filtering out negative keyword matching If you are targeting certain keywords it becomes very important to exclude keywords that are not related to your target audience. For example if you were to be targeting the keywords "affiliate marketing" you may find that some people search on "affiliate marketing programs". These people are not searching for information on affiliate marketing, but rather programs that they can join. Your conversion will be extremely poor. Consequently it is very important to use the option to filter negative keywords out. 3) Gain a high page quality score It is very important to get a good quality page score from Google as this will reduce the cost of your clicks. You can do this by getting high quality one way links to your website and include the keywords that you are targeting in the body of your landing pages. Are you really interested in driving massive traffic to your website? Here's the answer: Secrets Of Article Marketing - Download your free ebook now. Ecommerce Imagery - Persuading With Pictures
The power of images in making a sale has been well known in traditional marketing for a long time. This becomes even more important online when there's no physical product for users to handle. The images on your website alone have to work even harder to convey the true look and feel of your product. Although the following guidelines focus on ecommerce imagery, they can generally be applied to most websites. 1. Professional quality The quality of photographs is one of the few clues available online for users to judge the quality of your products. The importance of quality shots can't be stressed enough, especially for luxury goods. And it's an investment worth making - conversions have been known to more than double through improved imagery. Ensure images are professionally shot and of high resolution. Put as much care and thought into imagery as you would your window display. If you're aiming at the luxury market, it's important to create a feast for the eyes to draw your site visitors in. 2. Alternate & detailed views Offering alternate views is crucial to convey the full sense of the product. An important alternate view is the detailed one. The range of alternate views available should aim to provide a viable alternative to viewing the product in a physical store. It's a good idea to allow the full range of imagery to be explored by providing cues such as arrows in the gallery area. 3. Enlargeable Shoppers are unlikely to make a purchase in a bricks and mortar store without taking a close up look at the product. So it's essential that online product images are enlargeable so users can take a closer look and feel they can explore the product in detail. It's common practice to open the enlarged image in a pop-up window. 4. Quick to download With 16% of the UK online population not yet on Broadband (source: National Statistics), it's important that images load relatively quickly. Shoppers used to fast loading content are unlikely to wait around for images to load if they take much longer than a few seconds. 5. Proportionately detailed Using smaller versions of images on the home and/or category pages? Crop the image first so only the part of the image that captures its essence is viewable. Only then reduce this cropped image in size. By removing some of the detail the image won't appear so cluttered and unclear. Users struggle with images that are too small for the level of detail involved. 6. Scale & context Showing the scale of a product and its context of use can really help users making a purchase decision online. By doing so, they're able to gauge how big an item is and what other products may go well with it. Scale can be demonstrated by using mannequins or human models e.g. small items such as mobile phones can be portrayed held in a hand. Another alternative is to provide a ruler guide in the corner of the image to help users judge its scale. 7. Show it all Should your product come with accessories or components, display these laid out of the box so users can see exactly what they're getting and what other bits they may need to purchase separately. This view can form one of the alternate views of the product. 8. Relevant Any images used should be relevant and add value to the content on your site. Images can be an effective tool in giving site visitors a quick idea of what the content's about. Irrelevant pictures detract from the message being conveyed and can annoy users who don't see the connection between the pictures and text. In a nutshell Persuasive imagery is a powerful tool in increasing product sales. Poor imagery on the other hand can be detrimental to both sales and potentially also the brand. Good quality imagery is an investment worth making in an increasingly saturated and competitive online market. This article was written by Mrudula Kodali. Work At Home Time Management
By Tammy EmbrichAre you finding lack of time for your online business becoming more and more evident? Are you finding it more difficult reserving well-needed time for your children and family? Well, you are not alone. All too often, many home based business owners (unintentionally) fail to prioritize their time efficiently. I think time is about the most valuable and limited resource that we have. Balancing our personal and professional lives is indeed quite a challenge. This important task can be accomplished by taking a look at some significant small steps. Goals What are your business and professional goals? Turn your dreams and intentions into reasonable, achievable goals by writing each goal down beginning with the most important and ending with the least important. Purchase a special journal all your own for this purpose. Keep this journal close by, on your desk at all times.Write down what you want to achieve yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily. Plan long projects by breaking them down into bite-sized pieces and dedicating so much time each day for achieving your goals. Put Together A Work Routine Schedule And Stick With It Keep A Business Daily Planner On Your Desk. Prioritize your home business according to specific deadlines. Make a note of tasks that need to be completed daily. For example: Make a note to do your website updates on Mondays, Make important phone calls on Tuesdays, Do your business research on Wednesdays, and so on. Carve out a reasonable schedule for yourself and base it around your business needs and goals. The most important thing about a schedule is of course sticking to it. Staying focused and consistent is the key element to achieving success in any home business. Make Time For Yourself And Your Family This is the most important issue home based business owners face today. You must reserve special time for yourself and for your family. If you don't make time for yourself, you run the risk of business burn out. You need time to yourself to feel refreshed, energized, and ready to tackle the next task that needs completing. Take at least one half hour to a full hour each day solely for yourself. Take a walk, take a drive, take a nap, read a good book, watch a good movie or favorite program, schedule lunch with a friend. This is so important to you and also your business If you have children at home, you need to also involve them in this important time. Take your little ones to the park, the zoo, out for lunch, anything...just as long as you take this special time just for you and your children. Always take time out for that special bedtime story, helping with homework, making that special breakfast, or just talking and cuddling. Isn't this the main reason for deciding to work from home...staying home with your kids and spending quality time with them? Always schedule specific times with your kids, and also with yourself....this will help avoid getting over-stressed and over- worked with your home based business. Children like routine. You will also find that following a routine schedule will make you more productive and successful with your business. Opportunities Abound in Home Based Business
By Shannon LaveniaFor decades, people have been seeking ways to have it all: time, money, family, fun, travel, and more. People are seeking life balance after years of working 10 hour days and spending their time commuting to jobs they are disenchanted with while there children are being raised by strangers. The answer to the dilemma of how to manage family obligations with personal interests and pursuits, all while producing an income that enables you to enjoy a life of luxury and freedom is to build and enjoy a profitable home-based business. The right home based business can be the platform for you to reach your dreams of financial independence and life balance. While some people think of home based business as a way to produce a supplemental income, in reality, home based business has the potential to produce executive level incomes without the stress, headaches of traditional business, or high start-up fees that traditional businesses or franchises require. Operating a home-based business offers low start-up costs, the ability to be within your own environment, ultimate flexibility and no or low overhead. In addition, there are numerous tax incentives, no commute (except a few feet from your bedroom to your computer) and the personal fulfillment of knowing you are in control of your life and your destiny. You can run your business while you're enjoying time travelling or playing with your children at the playground. The concept of home-based business has appealed to many, providing millions of people the ability to create a life of their own design and enjoy a fulfilling life of financial freedom and personal balance. In 2004, almost 7 million people were self-employed and working at home and that number is growing exponentially. With the instability in job security caused by the expanding global economy, people are finding that being self-sufficient and self-reliant is the only way to accomplish the level of financial security and freedom they desire. People are realizing there is more to life than punching a clock and are seeking a life that is fulfilling and rewarding. The advancement of technology has assisted in the growth of home-based businesses, enabling people to easily and cost effectively communicate globally. With VOIP and the advancements in high-speed internet and cellular telephone technology, people are able to connect across borders efficiently, making the world your marketplace. Businesses that are as complex as international trade can be easily be handled from your living room couch or with an iPhone as you're snowboarding down the slopes in Aspen. Home based business opportunities range from clerical outsourcing, multi-level marketing businesses and specialized trade to lucrative direct sales opportunities. There's a great variety of legitimate opportunities that provide people with everything they require to establish and grow a successful and profitable business. Before starting a business, be sure to evaluate the following aspects to ensure the business model will meet your goals: • Business model and structure. • Marketing system provided (if applicable) • Income potential and how you receive your income (check, direct from customers, from company, etc.) • Time required to produce the income • Flexibility in the business model • Flexibility in time and location • Products and demand for product • Stability of the marketplace (i.e.: real estate, medical, etc) • Ease of start-up, experience or know-how required • Availability of assistance and leadership • History of success with existing members, affiliates, etc. • Stability of the parent company • International viability • Cost of start-up • Cost of overhead With a little due diligence, a desire to create your life by your design, a willingness to learn, and an entrepreneurial spirit, you can find the right opportunity for you and enjoy a lifestyle that is financially rewarding and fulfilling working from the comfort of your own home.

Online Home Based Business
By Michael ComeauPeople in droves are looking to the Internet to either learn how to start their own Home Based Business or they have done the math and have realized how lucrative it is and want to start today. One can see this by the words searched for on a daily basis such as online home based business, top home based business, income opportunity home based business, home Internet based business opportunity, work at home based business opportunity, home based mlm business opportunity, free home based business and home Internet based business opportunity. This just a few of the thousands of searches made daily. The Internet is a perfect choice for achieving their business goals, because there is no better way to reach millions of people on a regular basis. Currently the Internet is not taxed in any way and lets hope it stays that way for a long time. In addition the startup cost is minimal for an online web based company. Nowhere else could you get a business going that cost so little and reach so many people. The American Dream is being lived by many people in many countries because of this. My suggestion is to either use a website like mine, but not necessarily mine, that has researched and eliminated the companies that will only waste both time and money or spend many hours doing the research yourself. I cannot tell you how important the research is. While I and others offer many different types of home based business and work at home opportunities I am focusing today on a Online Web Site Business. Once you have selected a home-based business that you wish to start you will need to look at the following areas: 1. Web Site development (If you are going to have an online website) 2. Companies and products that you will offer on your site. 3. Marketing your website (Getting people to visit to your site). 4. Monitoring and revising your site on a real time basis. Today I am going to focus on real time changes that need to be made on your website. Some of you may have the necessary skill set required to develop & maintain, market and modify an online web site I did not. When reviewing and selecting companies that you wish to partner with, you will need to evaluate the following areas. 1. What Countries will the particular company offer product and services to? 2. How often do they update companies that they deal with? Many times the companies you deal with will serve as a middleman for many offers. 3. What type of refund process do they have in place for you visitors? 4. What types of guarantee, if any, will they offer you visitors? These are just a few of the areas that need to be considered, but you can see that if you can get a company (middleman) that has offers Internationally it will serve you best and minimize you efforts on a weekly basis. Either way it does not take much time. There are not that many changes especially if you do like I did and not reinvent the wheel. I followed a success proven system, whereby all of this was pretty much figured out for me. Please feel free to read more of this article by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me. Work From a Home Virtual Office - The #1 Way to Cut Your Overhead and Still Operate at Full Strength
By Mark GordonWhen business slows down, you need to act fast to conserve your capital while you wait out the cycle. Today, millions of business people are saving big money by closing their expensive offices and working from their home office. Like most things, there is a right way and a wrong way to do this. The wrong way is to move your office phones into your house and answer the phones yourself. First of all, you will still be paying the phone company for your business phone and fax numbers. Next, by answering all calls yourself, you are loading yourself up with all of the work that used to be performed by your staff. Finally, when you are not in your home office, you will lose calls. Yes, they may go to voice mail, but nobody calls your business to leave a message. They call to talk with someone. And if you are not available, even if they do leave a message, they will probably call a competitor who does answer the phone. So what is the Right Way? First, find a Virtual Office service provider who will let you transfer your phone and fax numbers to them. You will probably save hundreds of dollars every month, because you will not have to pay the phone company anymore. Ask your Virtual Office provider to set up a virtual Auto Attendant, using your phone number. Callers will hear your custom menu, something like: "Thank you for calling The Mortgage Brokers. If you know the extension of the person you are calling, you may enter it at any time or press 9 for the Dial by Name Directory. For information on a new mortgage, or to refinance your existing mortgage, press 1. If you are calling to check the status of your mortgage application, press 2. For our address, fax number and hours of operation, press 3. All other callers, press 4." Calls are transferred to you and your staff, live, wherever you are, at your home office or cell phone, just as if you were in the office. You should also have features such as Station to Station Transfer, that allows you to transfer a call to someone else in your company, with just a couple of keystrokes. When you do not take a call, voice mail will take your messages. You can listen to your messages by phone. Voice mail will also deliver the messages to you by email, so you can listen to your messages over your computer or any Internet devise. This also gives you a permanent record of each message. Your Virtual Office will also receive and deliver your faxes to your email. The cost of Fax to Email is so low, that you should give everyone their own private fax number. A complete Virtual Office, including extensions, call transfer and fax to email is as little as $19.95mo yet, you will sound like a professional, quality and trustworthy business and no one will know that you are actually working from that extra bedroom. You will save money and will probably sound even more professional then when you were working in an office. Mark Gordon is the President of American Voice Mail. American Voice Mail is a hosted service provider that has provided telephone Virtual Office services to over 1 Million clients. American Voice Mail owns one of the world's largest telephone number networks with local virtual office telephone numbers and services in 40 countries worldwide. Copyright 2007 Mark Gordon. Successful Attitudes of a Home Business Owner
By Michael NotoThe home business arena is a buzz with opportunity. More people each day are taking the plunge into home based business ownership. Having the right attitude can go a long way into determining success of failure as a home based business owner. This article will go into some of those attitudes and mentalities that will make you a more productive home business owner for years to come. Commitment to excellence is an essential attitude all business owners must possess. Not accepting anything other then success can be very beneficial to not only you as the owner of an organization but to your downline as well. While getting your business off the ground you will encounter challenges you never anticipated, answering these challenges head on really teaches you a lot about yourself and makes you a believer in your own success. Belief in one self is the single most important trait of any successful entrepreneur. Next, a more everyday quality and attribute you want to make sure you incorporate is impeccable time management skills. Up until owning your home based business you have always had a boss who pretty much told you what to do and when to do it while at work. Overcoming laziness and complacency is hard to do when you have so much free time as a home business owner. Practicing time management will help you overcome this hurdle. Lastly, set short and long term goals to keep yourself focused on a daily basis. Be sure to set achievable goals and ones that can be tangibly tracked with real data and results. The most important part of goal setting is that once you accomplish a goal that is on your slate be sure to move on to then next challenge you can face to expand your business. Implementing these practices into your everyday routine can go a long way into the success of your venture. What is a Merchant Account
By Zed MillerA merchant account is a special account that is setup for a business to accept and process credit card orders. After processing a customer's credit card the transaction goes through a series of complex stages. The money transferred through the merchant account is then deposited into the business's checking account within 2 to 3 business days. Requirements for a Merchant Account Getting important information together ahead of time will ensure that you breeze right through your merchant account application process. Here's what you may or may not (depending on the provider) need in order to obtain your merchant account: Business checking account (some providers set you up with one) A copy of a voided check (if you use your own business checking account for funds to be deposited in)
Articles of incorporation, business license or reseller license. (A 'Certificate of Assumed Name' from your county Register of Deeds office may be all that is required. These only cost around $8.) The purpose of this is to prove you are a legitimate business.
Pictures of business office and location (this extra step can save you money in credit card processing costs)
ave a web site (if you want real-time processing)
Photocopy of your return policy information
Provide trade references
Photocopy of recent tax returns (may or may not be needed depending on monthly sales volume you expect through your merchant account)
Site inspection (have a photographer come in and take pictures of your inventory). Only a handful of providers still require this.
A photocopy of your driver's license

Inbound Links Part 1 - The Factors
By David L. FeltsIt's no secret that inbound links are what make or break a site when it comes to search engine positioning. The more inbound links you have from quality sites, the higher your own site will rank. If the anchor text of those links and the theme of the sending site are related to the theme of your site, you'll get even more of a boost. But building links is tough. In today's competitive market, you have to do something to get your site noticed. Once your site has been noticed, judgment will be made by the court of public opinion. If your site gives visitors something they find valuable, they will tell people and, occasionally, link to your site. When it comes to inbound links, there are five main factors: Anchor Text Anchor text is the actual words that make up the link. These words are very important. They should relate to your web site and, most important, should vary. A lot of links with the same anchor text gives them the appearance of not being natural links, but rather links that have been purchased, swapped for, or automatically generated. To keep search engines from mistakenly (or correctly) classifying your inbound links as not natural, use as much variation as possible in the anchor text of those links. When a thousand inbound links to your site show up, all with the anchor text of "buy widgets here", it's pretty apparent to the search engines that these links aren't natural. When I do link building by commissioning blog posts, my preference is to not make any anchor text recommendations at all. I like the blogger to check out my site and come up with his or her own anchor text. In cases where the blogger is insistent that I proved anchor text, I provide a list for him or her to choose from instead of giving the same links every time. Link Quality Where a link originates from is very important. A link from a popular, well-trafficked site that's been online for years and already ranks well in the search engines is worth a lot more than a link from your friend's new blog. A few 'quality' links will do a lot more for your rank than a bunch of links from newer, less established sites. PageRank is factor link builders use to determine the 'quality' of a site. Other tings to look at are how long has the site been around, how many pages does it have indexed, and how much traffic it gets. Link Volume Link volume is the number of inbound links. Generally, the more inbound links a site has, the more important it's determined to be, as long as it doesn't run afoul of the two factors mentioned above. Time to Appear There's discussion among webmaster about whether or not how quickly links appear is considered. If a few thousands back links to your site appear all of a sudden, all with the same or close to the same anchor text, it will probably send up a red flag. Other factors come into play here as well: is it just a link? What's the content around the link? What the quality of the site it appeared on? How does the theme of the site it appeared on related to your site? Did the links show up all in a clump (over a day or two) and then nothing? These are all reasons why you have to be careful with any sort of automated link building approach because natural links tend to build up over time and typically don't come all at once. Link Age How long a link has been around is also a factor. Links that are only there for a month or two will probably not help when it comes to enhancing your site's search engine position. When most search engines discover a link, they'll keep an eye on it for a while before they give any credit too it. This is specifically to combat link buying, so that you can't buy a link on a highly ranked site and see an immediate result. There's no consensus on how old a link needs to be before it counts, but there is consensus that the longer the link has been there, the more value it has. Summary It's easy to find discussion on whether or not inbound links can hurt a site's ranking. The generally accepted theory is that they can't, since a web site owner has no control over who links to them. Personally, I'm not so sure. It never hurts to be careful, so before you purchase a link on any site, check the stats on it: Page Rank, Alexa Rank, number of pages indexed in Google, Yahoo and MSN and the number of back links showing in Google, Yahoo and MSN. I recommend staying away from sites that don't have good numbers. Although ranking sites using inbound links as a factor on the surface seems democratic enough (the web community votes for what it likes by linking too it) it creates a catch 22: if you can't get your site ranked so people can see it then how can they link to it so it can rank? Enter the process I'll discuss in Part 2, link building..... Dave Felts is an experienced web developer and Internet Marketer. Burnout in Business
By Lawrence LosoncyStress in the business world is like dandelions in the front lawn: it's everywhere. Burnout is a buzzword for too much stress over too long a period of time that finally renders people ineffective, disgusted, exhausted or disillusioned with their work. There are distinctive kinds of burnout. Recognizing these patterns early on provides one of the avenues for countering the stress and heading off the train wreck. Make no mistake, when anyone burns out on his or her job it is a train wreck! Two of the most prevalent forms of burnout in business are what is known as "Leaving Forever" and "Trapped in a Golden Cage". Leave Forever This type of burnout comes from too much enthusiasm and idealism. It is common but not exclusive in the "people and helping" businesses such as healthcare, education, recreation, credit management, home repair, dining, travel, beauty, real estate, golf course management, flower shops, photography, animal care, and childcare, to name but a few. The person comes to the business with high aspirations, gives the job more than 100%, works much too hard and way too long. Next he or she decides that the situation is hopeless, people are irresponsible and unappreciative, the industry is loaded with too many greedy and unscrupulous competitors and so the whole operation is a waste of time. Great ideals turn to ashes and the person leaves forever, bitter and cynical, having flown too high and crashed. Such tragedy can be averted by pacing: the one-thing idealists won't do unless coached and ordered to slow down. "Slow down" means going home at quitting time, using weekends for fun and relaxation, smelling the roses and getting some sleep. Small business owners are a high risk for this type of burnout because it is so easy to give the business extra time, energy and resources. Many founders of businesses are visionaries: they see a success and they believe that their business is worth doing. They often commit to pay any price to make it work. That's the trap: "any price" is too much. Some signs to watch for include increasing irritation at customer shortcomings. Why can't they make up their minds? Why are they so demanding? Why can't they be on time? Why do they always wait until the last minute? Why are they so ungrateful? Why are they rude? Why do they take me for granted? Antidote: go out of your way every day to thank your customers, to praise them, to encourage them to take their time. Be polite and treat them the way you wish they would treat you. In other words, practice appreciation instead of judgement. Another danger sign: you can't put the business out of your mind when you aren't there. If you can't stop thinking about the business it is taking over your life and the next step is that it will devour you. Antidote: when the workday is over make sure it is over. Close the place up, put the phone on automatic, close all your drawers and files and GO HOME. On the way home do something instead of thinking about work. When you get home, BE HOME. Engage yourself with your loved ones. Putter around in the garden. Get some exercise. Do some jogging. Take an enjoyable shower or bath. Get a good night's sleep. When these simple things do not work, get some help! Turn to an experienced friend, a veteran of the industry in which you work, or a business coach. Trapped in a Golden Cage This form of burnout stalks the person who is successful. Success breeds success, but it also breeds burnout for the unsuspecting. This is the overly successful business executive whose hard work and good fortune have allowed him or her to expand the business and take on new clients or larger projects along with a greater credit line and deeper debt. "I can't stop now" is the motto. "So many people depend on me" is the refrain. "Just a few more years and we'll be over the top" is the signal that a train crash is going to happen. This person is all work and no play. Time, for this person, has literally become money. The gamble is that good health practices such as exercise, sleep and proper nutrition can be sacrificed for a few more years until the business is over the top and there is time to live properly. Lots of marriages get sacrificed this way and lots of heart attacks happen to those who live high on adrenaline, driving themselves to ever-greater heights of business success in order to achieve financial goals. One of the biggest warning signs is the taking on of greater financial risks and debts in order to expand. Another warning sign is overextending one's efforts in order to avoid hiring others to grow with the business. "Paying with a pound of flesh" is very bad business. It is even worse from the standpoint of stress management. The odds are stacked against anyone who does this. If this description fits you, consider the antidote. Antidote: create balance by finding other interests besides the business, preferably activities you can share with those people in your life who love you, such as wife and children, friends and relatives. This will make it easier to put some limits on your work hours. It will help you develop perspective about where you are taking the business and how best to get there. Remember: there are always options. When you can't find options it is definitely time to pull back and rethink! Burnout in business can happen because things aren't going well enough and that gets people trying too hard or worrying too much. But it can also happen because things are going so well that people begin to believe they can't afford to stop. Physicians will often note that too much of a good thing brings them patients just as surely as too little of a good thing. Burnout in business comes from feast and from famine. Make sure to stay somewhere in between those two extremes if you plan to avoid burning out from the stress that goes with the territory. Network Marketers Spend To Much Time Prospecting!
By Joe LoBalsamoNetwork Marketers Spend To Much Time Prospecting! They don't have time to actually market their business. Once you use an effective mlm marketing system, you can spend three times as much time in front of interested people and literally double your results. Sounds great right? However hold on a minute. There's also the great benefit of positioning. When a customer or prospect find you, instead of you chasing the prospect, their perception of you is much different. The prospect naturally will have more respect for you and see's, you as a consultant, not a solicitor. Prospects and customers don't respects solicitors as a reliable information source. Any network marketer who goes out and attempts to recruit people is incorrectly positioned as a solicitor. By using the above strategies, my own mlm business changed almost overnight. Sponsoring people became, well, effortless. I don't want you to get the wrong idea that everything is suddenly easy. There were some months were I still had to work at it to get my number right but once I discovered these mlm marketing system and sales secrets, sponsoring double digits every month became a normal activity. Here's something else. The challenge of not having duplication in my mlm business went away. Now I had many serious prospect flow to get the really good people in my business, and second, of course I was teaching my downline the same techniques and they were sponsoring 4 to 8 people a month also. Network marketing get really fun when your organization is putting on those kinds of numbers. Wouldn't you like your mlm business to do the same? Wouldn't you like your mlm marketing system to be a machine that runs on autopilot, always generating prospects for you if your awake or asleep? When you have that kind of mlm marketing machine working for you, you'll make more money, have less stress and avoid the social grief that comes from the warm market prospecting, enjoy the natural motivation that comes from real results, experience visible, consistent growth in your business, you won't have to work so hard to get results and your distributors will be forever grateful they ended up doing business with you instead of someone else, because they won't become victims of the crazy practices that plague the network marketing industry. MLM Marketing - Taking Your Message to the Masses
By Alexander Harrison The first step of creating a successful business in MLM Network Marketing is to be able to locate and close interested people. Learn how marketing can help you take your message to thousands and even millions of potentially interested people.
Multi-Level Marketing almost doesn't make any sense to me. Most of the time there really isn't any marketing at all. You're encouraged to blurt out things to total strangers to try to create leads, and we wonder why people don't want to do that. It really makes me chuckle when I look at some of my own crazy experiences I've applied trying to make this work. There are different kinds of leverage you can take advantage of in this industry. You can leverage off of systems, a team, tools, and many other things. Marketing is just one of those forms of leverage that can really help you explode your business. Let's talk about what marketing really is. Your business opportunity can help people solve many kinds of problems. How many people do you know who couldn't benefit from more money? You really can help people solve problems with your business, products, and services. You just need to get the word out. Marketing helps you get the word out. Marketing is your ability to offer valuable solutions to large numbers of people all at the same time. In person you could only help a few people start a business every day, but with Marketing you can help an endless number of people all at the same time. In network marketing the main purpose of your marketing is to attract hungry, qualified, interested people to your offer. The way that you know that those people are interested and qualified is that you ask them to take an action. People who don't take an action aren't really serious about solving their problem. What happens after that is up to you. You could place an ad that directs people to call your office for a free consultation. Or you could direct people to your system and let it handle the bulk of educating your prospect for you. It's up to you. Your job is to get the world out with your marketing. How would you like to Never Talk to Another Prospect Again? The Secret is in the details of the Reverse Funnel System. But don't take my word for it. Is There A Difference Between Internet Jobs and an Internet Business?
By Aubrey Richardson
Many people want Internet Jobs that will allow them to stay home and work. It is only natural to look towards the World Wide Web as a way to do that. This could lead to finding another job or starting your own Internet business. Is there a difference between an Internet ventures versus a traditional brick and mortar type business? Read on! A job is defined many different ways, but a common definition is an individual task or activity that an employee does within their occupation. A business is defined as an organization operated with the objective of making a profit from the sale of goods or services. The Internet is making it possible to do both. People who provide a service can stay at home and do it on the Internet. Many times they turn that into a business. Building websites for people could be done on a job-to-job basis. After awhile you can be maintaining those websites and getting paid to do it. The more of a customer base you build the more Internet opportunities you are likely to develop. In essence you took a job and turned it into a business. Many people would rather have an Internet job than they would a business. A job implies doing it and you are done. A business means a long-term commitment. For example you could be hired to blog for a company. They pay you by the post. If you like doing that you could expand into blogging for other Internet businesses and turn it into a business of your own. The common component is using the Internet to make money anyway you choose and give you the freedom to manage your own time clock. Now people stay and home and make money with nothing more than their computer and the Internet. Depending on what you do you many need some skills to do certain Internet jobs. For sure you need to be able to type. You may need to be comfortable with various Microsoft programs such as excel and word. You probably will be sending and receiving email and will have to be adept at email programs such as Outlook Express, or Gmail. Some people will work at home on the Internet at the convenience of their employer. This is great if you do not like to commute. Still others will find Internet jobs on websites like TJobs or eLance. You could be an employee or self-employed depending on the situation. No matter how you do it, Internet jobs and Internet businesses offer a tremendous amount of benefits for the person who wants to stay at home and work online. A key point is to find something that interests you, something that you have a passion for and makes you want to learn more about it. It's these types of "jobs" that will tend to carry us on for a long time to come and feels more satisfying in the end. Aubrey Richardson is the founder of LogoFax one of the largest and fastest growing Logos & Clip Art sites online. Additionally, Aubrey has created Internet-Based-Business-Opportunity Get this: Over $225,000 added to your bottom line and 4,120 people added to your downline in just 14 months is phenomenal! Moreover, this 25-yr old "unknown" rookie network marketer claims he can show any knuckle-head how to repeat his results and thousands already agree. Guess what? If *you* don't agree that his SYSTEM is the quickest and laziest way to build your network marketing business, then you get double your money back!! Is this guy stupid or just plain brave? These Seven Time Management Exercises Will Accelerate Your Home Business Growth!
By Dean Caporella
Time management exercises for home business owners are vital in getting the the most out of your business. While your skill in whatever area of expertise is certainly important, the importance of time management cannot be emphasised enough in helping you produce a profitable bottom line. Many failed work-at-homers cite procrastination as one of their biggest hurdles and coupled with other factors such as fear and time wasting, their dream of earning an income from home remains just that... a dream. Time Management Exercises The following time management exercises won't guarantee you success in your home business but they'll give you a jump start on most who can't or won't tackle the problem of procrastination. Let's get cracking! 1. Use a regular work area. Designate a place where all your office tools are in the one place. Eliminate any distractions. 2. Assign a time when you'll be working on your business. Whether it's 9-3pm or 8-12noon, you need to set down a specific number of hours you'll spend on your business. 3. This goes hand in hand with the previous exercise. Isolate what part of the day you work best and are more productive. You may be a morning person or a night person or you like to work mid afternoon. Decide and then make sure other members of the household know your routine. 4. Work on one assignment at a time. Whether it's making calls, working on accounts or writing articles and content for your websites, choose a task and stick to it. One tip is to plan your week or even month ahead of time. Assign specific tasks to specific days. Allow room flexibility but get into a routine. 5. If you have several tasks to complete on any given day then a great way to complete them is to start with the most difficult or most fearful chore first and work your way up to the easiest. This promotes a sense of achievement as you complete each task and you'll be amazed at how your confidence grows. 6. Reward yourself at the end of each work day and taking it a step further, give yourself a major reward at the end of the week. These rewards can be whatever takes your fancy. For example, you might reward yourself by going to dinner or catching a movie or, if you live near a beach you might head out and catch a wave. It can be whatever you want it to be, within reason of course. 7. This time management exercise is one I have employed successfully with great results. It has a snowballing effect which can leap frog your business quite dramatically. Before going to bed, do just one more thing that may help your business. One more task that will make your day even more complete and instill a greater sense of satisfaction within you. It's amazing how this puts you in a positive frame of mind and remember, by just doing one extra task a day multiplies significantly over the course of time.

How to Choose the Right Online Business Opportunity
By Connie McKenzie EASY MONEY! Well, isn't that what most of us are looking for these days. We go on the Internet thinking we know how to choose the right online business opportunity. Unfortunately, the Internet is littered with scams and traps that take money and time from people who are looking to earn an income at home. With some common sense and extra research, you can figure out how to choose the right online business opportunity that is legitimate. Follow these 6 criteria to give you the best idea as to how to choose the right online business opportunity for you. 1) Full Training and Support: One of the most important aspects of any business system. There needs to be a phone number to call when you need help with anything and an email address which responds within at least 24hrs or less. With a simple and easy to follow training format. 2) Little or No Experience Needed: There should be no need for anyone to have to have experience to be successful. If I wanted experience, I would have gone to college way back when and got a job working in an office. So how can you become successful and make money with no experience? That's where the training and support come in, follow the directions, ask questions and be persistent. 3) Marketability: Does the program involve selling a product? Do people want to buy the product? Find out how long the business has been running and if it has been around for awhile and if people are still buying the product. Then I would say that they must be doing something right. 4) Company History: The company you are considering working for should have been in business for at least 2 years. Avoid "pre-launch" opportunities, you will want to be sure that the company has been working for a lot of people for a good amount of time. This is proof that it will work for you. To get more proof, phone or email the owner and ask him/her. Don't just rely on BBB online or online forums to make your decision. Going to the source and speaking with the person in charge is your best bet. 5) Income Potential: Can you make money? Check out the compensation plan or projected earning potential. Consider whether it is a business in which you can make at least a few thousand a month. You don't want to be in business for yourself if you are going to be broke, I know I don't. 6) A Complete System: And most importantly, does the business or program have a complete system? In other words, can you sit down with the system, follow the directions, do what you are told to do and make money? Find a business with a complete program that has everything you need in one place and then get to work. There are legitimate online jobs for people, and knowing how to choose the right online business opportunity will mean doing some research. Taking your time and being extra careful to analysis the company, will afford you a rewarding a scam free work at home job.

What is Affiliate Marketing?
By Shawn Collins This is chapter 1, What is Affiliate Marketing?, of Successful Affiliate Marketing for Merchants. In brief, I usually describe affiliate marketing as the online equivalent of Avon. Back when I was growing up, we had the Avon lady in the neighborhood. She would sell cosmetics door to door, and if she made a sale, she earned a commission. It's as simple as that - when applied online, people have Web sites where they can display advertisements, and if they refer a transaction from their ads, they earn a commission. Affiliate marketing is a fairly simple concept, but people complicate it sometimes. As far as a quick history of affiliate marketing, it's a little over ten years old in it's online form. A lot of people attribute the concept to Jeff Bezos an Amazon.com, but CDNow actually launched a primitive version of an affiliate program a year or so before Amazon.com. So CDNow were innovators, but Amazon.com certainly popularized affiliate marketing, and they deserve recognition there. In terms of defining an affiliate, it used to be simply a content site. But affiliates have evolved greatly over the years, and these days an affiliate can be essentially any method used to market online. For instance, affiliates are using data feeds, SEO, blogs, video, pay per click search engines, etc. The affiliate program model is generally applied to one of three types: pay per sale (revenue share), pay per lead, or pay per click. Some affiliate programs combine these models to form a hybrid affiliate program. People often wonder what sort of companies have affiliate programs. Well, the top retail Web sites, ranked by dollars spent (excluding auction sites, large corporate purchases and travel) for the 2006 holiday season (Nov. 1 – Dec. 26) were as follows, according to comScore Networks: Affiliate programs are all over the list of top retail sites. But they are also just a common among Mom and Pop stores online. That said, affiliate marketing is not easy. It's not something where you can simply throw money at it and see great results. Rather a successful affiliate program requires a number of things, including creativity, focus, effort, and money.
