No Traffic, No Affiliate Income
There is a very simple truth about succeeding with affiliate programs. Without a reasonably high traffic moving in the direction of your affiliate web site, you will not make any money. It is really as simple as that. Yet many folks continue to join affiliate programs and dream of making it big with measly traffic trickling in. This is just not possible. It is therefore very important to establish how you will be generating traffic before joining any affiliate program. So any affiliate program that already has an established system for generating leads that includes effective methods for generating lots of traffic, naturally multiplies your chances of success long before you start working with them. How Much Traffic Do You Need To Reach Your Targets? In fact really successful affiliates will quite often do some very precise calculations on the amount of traffic that they require to reach their carefully thought out revenue targets. For example the first thing they will do is find out how many unique visitors they need to arrive at their affiliate site before they can make a single sale. This is referred to as the response rate. Typically an affiliate may find that they need an average of 1,000 unique visitors to achieve a single sale. This means that for them to sell 100 units of their affiliate product they will require to direct 100,000 unique visitors to their affiliate site. With this kind of approach success in affiliate marketing ceases to be guess work and becomes a highly scientific and quantifiable project where it is easy to focus on a precise number in terms of traffic required to reach one's goals, targets and objectives. Not Just Any Traffic Will Do It is critical to remember that just not any traffic will do. What is in fact required is highly targeted traffic. Online entrepreneur affiliates will quickly find that general traffic is almost useless because a very high number of hits will be required to make a single sale. This is one reason why traffic from search engines is usually of great value to affiliates. Search engines are the most reliable source of targeted traffic in high volumes. This makes it extremely useful for an affiliate to understand search engine optimization or to possess SEO skills. It is therefore hardly surprising that many affiliate programs give affiliates important keyword phrases to use for their marketing efforts in driving traffic to their affiliate sites.

Affiliate Marketing Tips - 3 Survival Skills To Stay On Top of The Game
There are probably dozens of affiliate marketing tips floating online. Every affiliate is looking for new ways to create more profits, drive more traffic and do more sales. Sadly, many newbies come and go, looking for the next miracle pill that hopefully would make them instant millionaires. For those who are new to the game, the best affiliate marketing tips that can be dished out to them are some good old advice and survival skills which we are discussing here. Affiliate marketing can be profitable if you are willing to put in hard work and stay focused. While it is competitive, there are literally millions of undiscovered or low competition niches for you to uncover. The demand is also growing exponentially with more people using the internet. Here are the top 3 survival skills for you to stay in the game. Affiliate Marketing Tip 1 – Content Publishing Search engine traffic is the most targeted traffic. You need to build your website with the objective of ranking well in the search engines. Unique content with good information will get you there. Spend time researching forums and the search engines to find out what are the common troubles or challenges your audience is facing so that you may offer some solutions. Be sure to include great product reviews on your website because many people are searching for that. Weave the reviews into your content so that it does not sound like a sales pitch. "Speak" to your prospects from the point of understanding their difficulties and problems and how the products can offer a solution. Make your headlines attractive and catchy, and explain the product benefits clearly. Post testimonials of happy customers. These are the best presell content you can have. Affiliate Marketing Tip 2 – List Building I simply cannot overemphasis on the need to follow up with your prospects. Each visitor to your site is valuable. Make sure you have an opt-in box for them to subscribe to a weekly or monthly newsletter you have. This is so that you can continue to keep in touch with them and offer them useful information to build a relationship with them. Be sure to broadcast positive product reviews occasionally. Do not go for quick bucks and promote just about everything the whole world is promoting. Be selective and promote only the best! How can you get them to sign up? On top of offering a free newsletter, perhaps you can offer a free report for them to download. This is a powerful technique that I personally use. Affiliate Marketing Tip 3 – Targeted Traffic Driving Do not go crazy when it comes to driving traffic. Some affiliate marketers go on frenzy and start buying all kinds of traffic. What you really need is targeted traffic. One good way is to imagine yourself as your potential customer. If you need information, where would you go? Forums, Ezines and Search Engines are great places to find the information. So these are excellent places for you to advertise. Contribute regularly to the article directories and ezine directories, optimize your website for the search engines, be active in forums and set up PPC advertising. If you are willing to commit to adopt these 3 affiliate marketing tips, I can almost guarantee you that you are the next likely candidate to succeed online. Working From Home - Practical Advice For New Business Owners
It is increasingly common for people to start a business from the comfort of home. Sometimes the appeal to be your own boss is the driving factor. Sometimes it's because you can keep an eye on the kids at the same time. Sometimes the knowledge of being able to work at your own pace, at the hours you choose, is the deciding factor. Possibly it is a combination of the above. Whatever your reasons for working from home, if you are just starting or still thinking about making this step, there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost is your budget. When you leave behind paid employment, you need to be able to support yourself for, possibly, months to come. It is common for a business to make a loss in its first year. And even if you are able to make a profit, it is only rarely that the amount made, after taxes, will be significant. Will you be able to cope with this? Do you have money set aside? Do you have the start-up funds needed for your business or do you need to take out a loan? If you need to take out a loan, will you be able to make the monthly payments? These are all important things to consider. If you can answer these questions in a positive manner, the next step to take is to look for a bookkeeper. Unless you have the skills needed for this job, having the aid of a bookkeeper will help you avoid problems in the long run. There are many bookkeepers who will be willing to advise you and who will be able to aid with end of year paperwork at a fair and affordable price. The bookkeeper will undoubtedly be able to answer questions about how and where to register your business for tax purposes. Other legal requirements will depend on the country you are doing business in. Make sure to ask which expenses class as tax-deductible. Keep receipts of these expenses. Keep receipts of anything significant, for that matter, and file away these receipts safely. You will need them at the end of the business year. If you can keep them filed by week or month, this is even better because it will save time sorting them all later on. Make records of your expenses and income. If you have a bookkeeper, this does not need to be all technical. Your bookkeeper will aid you with that. But a standard record, preferably filled in on a weekly basis, will help you keep track of everything and will soon give an insight into whether or not you are achieving your goals. You will also need this record for tax purposes. Do not keep all your records on the computer. If you do choose to do it this way, make sure you make backups on a regular basis. Computers do crash, hard drives need renewing and a computer virus could cause devastation. It is safer to use a paper notebook and to keep the notebook in a sensible place. Once you start making money, keep in mind that you will have to pay taxes on your earnings at the end of the financial year. It is good practice to keep this money aside (your bookkeeper will be able to advise you on the rates relevant to you), so that you have this ready when needed. Almost every business will need a computer, printer and telephone/fax. If you are unsure whether or not your skills match up to the needs of your business, free courses tend to be available for those new to this technology. A certificate in IT is always helpful and will look good on your list of qualifications. If you have children around the home during work hours, and you expect to be receiving phone calls from potential clients, it can be helpful to ask a friend to keep an eye on the children. Children demanding your attention during an important call can be stressful, and can give an unprofessional impression to your customer. The same goes for barking dogs or anything similarly distracting. Try to have an office space at home for that very purpose. The office should be a place for work, and should be off bounds to others not involved in business activities during work hours. This might take some getting used to by other members of the family, but it will be worth it in the long run. All this might sound daunting, but once you get into the routine of keeping notes, filing and all the technical aspects of your business, it can make for a rewarding experience.

Promote Your Work-At-Home Internet Business
Today there are many different ways to promote your work-at-home Internet Business. The best thing you can do is to utilize different web 2.0 sites to give your business more exposure online. Web 2.0 means websites where users generate the content and normally they are all free to use. Some examples of these sites include online video sharing sites, article directories and social communities. There are three specific websites that I advise you to use in order to promote your work-at-home Internet Business. 1.Youtube: This is one of the most visited websites online. It offers you the opportunity for huge exposure with your online videos – simply by uploading them for free. Try to make videos where you tell your story and what you have to offer. Remember that people are more curious about you than your business, so give as much information about yourself as possible. 2.Squidoo: A free platform where you can submit your articles or any information you have on your area of expertise. You can submit as many articles as you want and if you optimize them the right way you can later find them on the first page of Google. Ezinearticles is another very good article site and you should be using these two sites all the time, because they are free and you can get more exposure by simply submitting articles to them. 3.Myspace: Again - a huge social community which is full of people from all walks of life. When you create your profile try to give as much information as possible about yourself. Your main goal on Myspace should be to provide value to other people and to build great relationships. These three platforms are very powerful if you use them correctly. However, before you start to promote your work-at-home Internet business, try to define exactly what your target market is. What kind of people would you like to attract to your business? 80 % of people who do online marketing skip this step, although it's a highly important part of your online marketing strategy. I recommend you write down on paper all the desired qualities of the people you would like to attract to your business. When you work with Youtube, Squidoo and Myspace everything will be much easier when you take action thinking about your target market. I hope these tips will help you to promote your work-at-home Internet Business www.personalonlinecoach.com Lasse Rouhiainen helps small business owners to promote their business online using free tools and strategies. As an affiliate marketer, we have to find a market before we can promote certain products. By finding a market first, we will save us months or even years of wasted efforts. After you have find your market, the next thing that you have to do is to find your niche market. A niche market is a specialized portion of a larger market. You have to find your niche market because you will have a better chance of selling or promoting a merchant's product, if it is a niche market. You will have less competitor, more targeted market and you can be a master in your niche market easily because the topics have been narrowed down. But how are we going to find our own niche market? There are several methods that we can use to find our niche market. Among the method that we can use are: 1)Brainstorming Strategy You can start finding your niche market by using your brainstorming sessions. These are ideas you or someone one around you come up with. Start from your surroundings and environments. Start from the topic that you have interest in. Thinks of an area that you do not know but you would like to learn 2)Big Picture Market Strategy You have to look at the big picture when applying this strategy. Do some research at a Market Portal Site such as Clickbank, Amazon, Froogle or at the offline resources like your local newspaper. Sort through their top ten list, advertisements and other piece of informations that you can describe as hot seller. Try to make any connections with your choice of Market. 3)The Root Keyword Strategy A root keyword is a word entered into the search engines that people use to find what they are looking for. Don't forget to use "related keywords to discover more subniches. Tools that you can use are Wordtracker, Overture, Keyword Empire to name a few. With a niche market you can serve better to your customer because you can become a master on the niche market easily. People attending your niche market is already your target market. Why to Have a Link Building Strategy
By Dan Patterson The way I look at it, you have two ways that you can go about building links to your site: following a plan or doing it haphazardly. Which do you think works better? Speaking from experience, the planned way is a lot more effective! Why to Have a Plan Yes, its very cliche, but there’s something about these cliche statements: they is usually some good truth to them! So here’s the cliche statement for today: if you fail to plan you plan to fail. If you go about your link building very haphazardly you’ll get some work done, but not as much as you would with some sort of a plan. It doesn’t really matter what you plan is, just make sure you have one so that you make the most of your time. Figure out how much time you're going to spend on link building, then make the most of that time in an organized manner. Link building can be a very monotonous exercise, so keep the big picture in mind and develop a plan. What Makes a Good Plan I don’t believe that there is any one perfect way to do it. So here’s the basic idea of what I do: I focus on a different technique each day to give myself variety. Here is an example of a typical strategy that I will follow: Mondays I might focus on blogs, Tuesdays would be to write an article or two, Wednesday I do directories, etc. I will modify this from time to time, and on some weeks I have to make little adjustments. For the most part though, I will try to stick to this type of a schedule. When you first get going on building links, any plan is better than no plan. Maybe your plan is that you’re going to spend 3 hours on Saturday. Great! Now decide what you’re going to get done in those 3 hours and you have a plan! Once you have your plan the next step is simple: work that plan! As you work your plan you may find that it is not as effective as you may have thought. That’s ok. Make some adjustments and keep going.

Internet Marketing - The Teleseminar Business Model
By Tellman Knudson People often ask me, "How do I start with Internet marketing? What were your first steps?" Actually, that's pretty simple, but it may still take you a while to figure things out. The first thing is to pick a niche that you can market to. What topic excites you? What do you have some experience with that you can enjoy working in every day? What might you build a business around and live with for a very long time to come? This is where your niche comes in. Finding that is really the key. Figure that out. It can be something you know a lot about already or about something you want to learn more about. Either situation will work. Then, you need to invite a bunch of people to work with you, and they should have lists and products to sell. Then, they promote your interview series. You've probably seen this done several times before. You get the people you've invited to promote the whole interview series, and on the thank-you page, after people have opted in, you sell a product and they earn an affiliate commission. Then, comes the interviews and you're all set! At the end of each interview, you'll sell your partner's product through your affiliate link. They'll be making money, you'll be making money, and you're also building up a series of recordings--that you know nothing about or that you know a lot about. Either you're an inquisitive interviewer or an expert interviewer. But you can use these recordings later on, as a product, too. "I have experience in this topic. I'd like to know what your thoughts are on..." and ask questions from your particular area of expertise. Then, you'll be off and running. Get ten to twelve people on the topic who have lists and can promote to your list, and that's how you get your feet wet with Internet marketing. I got started in Internet marketing that way, and you can, too. What happens then, when the series has ended? You have a big list of people who have signed up for the teleseminars and are now on your list. So, you go over to ClickBank and get some products that you can promote to your niche audience and you send them some emails with some great tips and make the products solve whatever problem it is they're having. You're going to be making more money with Internet marketing that way, and my Perpetual Marketing Machine course outlines the whole process. It worked for me! No matter what niche you're into, Internet marketing is very, very powerful.

Productive Affiliate Marketing - 5 Ways to Boost Your Revenue From Affiliate Marketing
By Sean R Mize Just what did the affiliate marketing millionaires do to get to the stage where they are in right now? You can't help but wonder what they did right when many others have failed miserably in their venture to affiliate marketing. Well, wonder no more. Here are five of ways to get more money out of your affiliate programs: 1.) Ditch the free hosting sites and invest in your own domain name. -- Have you noticed that in free hosting sites, you need to post ads provided by the host in your site? If you're going to post these required ads along with the ads for your affiliate programs, your site will only look cluttered. Visitors may even get confused with what to click on. 2.) Advertise your website aggressively. -- There is stiff competition among affiliate marketers online so you need to step up and go the distance when advertising your referral links. There are a lot of advertising strategies to use; there's email marketing, affiliate marketing, pay-per-click advertising, and many others. You just need to invest some of your time and a little bit of money in advertising, but the results are worth the effort. 3.) Center around a theme so that you can zero in on your target audience. -- You may join several affiliate programs at once, but make sure the products and services they're offering are similar to each other. For example, it makes sense to join a program selling ladies' shoes and joining another one selling fashion accessories. Although the two programs sell different products, their target audience is the same--modern working women in their twenties and thirties. 4.) Write a blog that complements your website. -- A regularly updated blog helps a lot in driving traffic to your website. If your blog has its fair share of visitors, you can post links to your website within your blog. The traffic your website generates can be driven to your website using this strategy. 5.) Join affiliate programs that have several levels. -- This is a perfect way to earn passive income. You earn not only from sales you make, but also from sales made by people in your down line. The extra commission from this setup will surely add a lot more to your income. | Do you want to learn more about how I do it? How To Promote Your Products and Profit Massively from Them - Part 2
By Aurelius Tjin Part 1 of these series focused on how you can easily start getting traffic to your website in just 24 hours after product launch. This part 2 is a continuation of the same principles and methods. Before I go further, I would like to stress the fact that it would not be beneficial to both you and me if you are not going to implement the strategies listed out here. There is simply no need to waste your time and mine if all you want to do is read and file away. Make sure you implement them properly as they could define your success and failure online. 1. Build an affiliate list. Affiliates are simply people who help you sell or market your products and services for a certain percentage of the profits. They are the fastest way to get the word out. In fact I dare to say the use of this single tactic is enough to generate for you all the traffic you want. Take your time to find out how you can draft a team of affiliates who are willing to help you sell your products. If you doubt this, go to any reputable internet marketing forum and ask if affiliates are any use. Quench as much as possible the desire to have it all by yourself. Be willing to share in the short term so you can benefit in the long term. Let me make this more graphical. Let us say you just launched a product and you have about 50 affiliates helping to market the product. If each of the affiliates drives to your website just ten thousand visitors monthly, how many visitors would it result to in a month? Five hundred thousand! Five hundred thousand visitors you did not pay a dime for! What can be better than that? Then assuming you get to secure the emails of just one hundred thousand of them in a month, you’ll have yourself 1.2 million subscribers in just 12 short months. All at no cost to you. All you have to do is be willing to share the profits with your affiliates. If you sell later a product of $40 to just fifty thousand out of the 1.2 million subscribers yearly, you’ll end up making $2 million in a year. All for just allowing your affiliates take just five hundred thousand dollars in commissions. Not a bad deal eh? 2. Write articles centered on the benefits of your product and submit to article directories, ezine and newsletter publishers, and every possible location all over the internet. If you can even put your ads in the national dailies, put it. It doesn’t cost much to place classified ads in newspapers. 3. Advertise in other ezines and mailing lists. This is a tricky method. The key lies in getting them to visit your website. So, the best bet is not to sell in your solo mailings or top sponsor ads, but in getting them to visit your website using an enticing copy. For instance, if you are selling an ebook, audio or video recording, you can just prepare an excerpt of the ebook, parts of the recording and so on for them to download at no cost to them. This will create a desire in them to want to buy immediately if the excerpts offered them are good enough.

It is no good just building a list and expecting to make money. It just is not going to work. You need to make it lucrative. Here are 3 ways to build a lucrative announcement list: 1. Profitable Affiliate Revenue - 3 Tips to Earn more Revenue Thru Affiliate Marketing
By Sean R Mize If one talks about job options to take that is home based and that is able to give profitable revenue, I am pretty sure that people will give it a go for affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing, the affiliate marketer earns his revenue by simply advertising and selling the company products of others. The affiliate revenue becomes bigger and bigger when the affiliate marketer is able to sell more and more products. Since, the name of the game is about selling numerous products from the company where you are affiliated with, then it logical to say that an affiliate marketer should have techniques to follow in terms of effectively selling the merchandise to sell more and to earn revenue more. a. Maximize your promotional plans. As an affiliate marketer, the first thing that you need to do is to make sure that the product you are endorsing gets the maximum visibility on the net. Through this, you are allowing for your product to compete with other products and thereby will be noticed by potential clients. Engage in all forms of marketing like e-zine publication, article marketing, e-maul marketing, and even the paid advertisements like pay per click, banner ads and a lot more. b. Make sure that you fully recognize the features of the product that you are endorsing. It becomes easier for any affiliate marketer to sell any product when he knows the product itself. It shall be easier for you to goad and encourage people to buy your product because you know what you are talking about. c. Always make a monitoring on how the advertisements are picking up from a day to day progress. If the laid advertisement plans are not good enough to generate traffic and convert these into sales, then you will need to devise new and effective marketing plans. | Do you want to learn more about how I do it? Fetching One Way Links - A Beginners Guide
By Jerret Turner To help the new webmaster launch into an effective link building campaign, I've outlined 5 important linking concepts. Links are votes: A link is a vote that one website (the "linker") casts for another website (the "linkee"). The vote is giving credence or credibility to the linked site. But, unlike politics, each vote does not hold equal weight. The link voting system more closely resembles a high school popularity contest than a presidential election. Each vote has a different vote strength: Think of it this way, if the high school quarterback befriends me, and I'm a nerd, I'll be seen as "more popular" by the other kids. Why? Because a "vote" by the quarterback holds more weight. His vote strength has more power than most of the other kids. What gives each site its voting power? The search engines do. We can know a lot about how a search engine bestows vote strength but we can't know everything. A lot of bad links doesn't equal good linking: Getting back to the popularity contest vs. a presidential election, remember that not all links carry the same weight. In fact, some links carry little to no weight. It's safe to assume that the easier it is to get a link from a site, the less value, or clout, that link holds. That's why most link exchanges don't work. Because everyone involved is so eager to get links, they freely give links. Linking must be natural: When you start getting links, the search engines start gathering information about your site. How many links do you have? How fast are they growing? Where are they coming from? Where you get into trouble is when you're building your links, get tired because it takes work, then buy a service or piece of software that can get you 500 links in a few days. So, all of the sudden, your linking profile jumps. You were moving along at a good pace and them, bam, you're not so natural anymore. Linking is a hands on process: As a new webmaster, it's easy to buy every linking software or service on the market. Consider this when you're evaluating software or a service: if it's faster, gives you less control, and costs less, then most everyone else has tried it. If everyone is trying it, it's not working or will soon not be working. Put yourself in the search engine's shoes and ask, "What would I do with a site that went from a few hundred links to several thousand, in just a few days?" These 5 concepts are meant as a starting point for new webmasters. Link building is a part of an effective SEO strategy but it's a very important part. There are things you can do to get quality backlinks without having to resort to bad linking techniques. A good rule of thumb is to think and do the opposite of what most other webmasters are doing. If you do that, you'll set yourself apart from 95% of everyone else.

Things To Avoid For Any Affiliate Marketing Program
By Damien Ong Here are some avoidable errors one can seriously avoid while starting or promoting Affiliate Marketing Program. - Never post ads on forums. True, forums are used or can be used to promote an affiliate program or website, but only in a proper manner. Posting of banners or urls are very similar or equal to spamming and can easily draw the ire of forum administrators. - Do research before any promotion of the program to a prospective customer. As it is futile effort to promote things to uninterested people, hence do not waste time and effort here if possible. - Avoid Copyright infringement in all cases. Always use original content or seek the necessary permission before using text, content or images found on other websites. - If possible, try not to submit programs to free sites. As they are free, the chances of being noticed by Search Engines can be quite low and this would affect the ranking of the programs. - Avoid using or focusing on animated banner ads as they would only take up or use up bandwidth; causing a slow loading of pages. - Avoid advertising off line as most people would rarely check on websites found in newspaper or magazines. Hence save the money and use it for online advertising such as Google Adwords. - Avoid hosting the website or program on a free website or using a free e-mail accounts. This is essential as it would give an unprofessional or negative impression to visitors. - Always remember to respond on all queries sent by visitors as soon as possible. The reason is that even a slight delay may cause a prospective customer to be lost. - Avoid pop-up ads during webpage construction. Most surfers would close their browser if pop-ads appear. - Always maintain a good tracking system. This would enable accurate tracking of responses for review or necessary changes. - Always focus on a theme as a highly focused site would more likely to attract visitors than a disoriented site. - Avoid or try to use minimum Caps on the webpage. Usage of caps are equal to shouting, hence strategic use of caps to capture attention should be applied. - Finally, do homework and research properly. Then implement and persist with the plan as it would take time to achieve results. Author's Note: Never give up if you fail once. Remember practice make prefect. When you do not succeed the first time, does not mean you would not the next time.

List Building - What the Heck Is Co-Registration, and Should I Care?
By Tellman Knudson When you think about co-registration, don't think about it as buying "leads." That's a whole different ball game, and has nothing remotely to do with co-registration. Co-registration is one really great tool for list building, and you should definitely be using it, if you're new to Internet marketing. Co-registration means that you're advertising your newsletter, ezine, special report, or other offer along with other businesses at the same time. Beside each of the offers on the co-reg page is a checkbox, so that people can decide which offers they're interested in subscribing to. Once they sign up via a co-reg form, they're asking to become subscribers to one or several lists at the same time. You'll pay co-registration because the co-reg service advertises for you and guarantees you a certain number of optins each month. It's definitely the fastest way to be list building when you have no list to start. But there are two things you need to consider. First, do you want the checkbox filled in or left to the viewer's discretion? If you let the box be filled, you'll build your list faster, but the people may just be signing up because they were really interested in something else. If you leave the checkbox unchecked, and make the viewer decide that they want to be on your list, you'll probably have a much more responsive customer; however, this method of list building is much slower. The other thing you need to consider is whether you want to use single or double optin for your leads. That means they will either get nothing to confirm or that they'll receive a confirmation message from your autoresponder that they'll have to respond to before they become part of your list. Single optin is undoubtedly a faster way to be list building, but double optin will help you to avoid spam complaints. The quickest way to build a list is undoubtedly with single optin and the checkbox filled in. Is it the best way for you? You'll have to decide when you set up your co-reg account, but you can always go back and change it later. The biggest issue with co-registration is that the people you're building your list with didn't join because they know who you are and want to be part of your world. They're strangers. So, you have to make them your friends. |
